The Safer Beauty Bill Package

The Safer Beauty Bill Package, reintroduced in mid-July 2025 and led by Breast Cancer Prevention Partners, aims to close gaps in federal law and protect consumers especially women of color and professional salon workers from unsafe cosmetic exposures. Key provisions include; banning 18 toxic chemicals like parabens, toluene, and formaldehyde-releasing preservatives (HR 4433), banning two entire chemical classes to prevent harmful replacements (HR 4433), protecting communities of color and salon workers with FDA oversight of synthetic braiding hair and $30M for research, safer alternatives, and education (HR 4436), requiring ingredient disclosure, including hidden fragrances and flavor chemicals, with accessible online information (HR 4435), and ensuring supply chain transparency so manufacturers have necessary safety and toxicity data (HR 4434). Take action and urge Congress to pass the Safer Beauty Bill Package.  

The Menstrual Equity for All Act

The Menstrual Equity For All Act, introduced by Representative Grace Meng (D-NY), aims to expand access to menstrual products for low-income individuals across the U.S. Key provisions include; Medicaid coverage for menstrual products, TANF grant program to provide benefits for menstrual products, increased Social Services Block Grant funding for distribution of menstrual products, and prohibition of state and local taxes on retail sales of menstrual products. The bill addresses menstrual equity and affordability, helping ensure all individuals can access essential hygiene products.
