As we continue to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Women’s Voices for the Earth, we’re excited to invite you to join us for the next chapter of our collective story.
Over the past three decades, our work has evolved as we’ve deepened our understanding of the intersecting identities and movements that shape people’s ability to lead healthy, empowered lives. Our new name reflects that understanding and invites people of all identities to add their voices to the conversation.
Starting today, Women’s Voices for the Earth becomes…

How Did We Get Here?
Changing the name of a well-respected, even beloved, organization like Women’s Voices for the Earth is not something we took lightly.
As our board and staff began developing our 2022–2027 Strategic Plan, they faced a challenging truth: a name that once invited in people who had been denied a seat at the table in the environmental health movement increasingly felt like it was keeping others out.
They decided the time had come to thoughtfully and intentionally create a new brand that welcomes the voices of everyone who experiences health risks due to toxic products in their homes, workplaces, schools, and communities.
Last year, we brought in the fabulous AshbeanPDX to partner with us on a rebranding process grounded in listening, collaboration, and collective visioning. We engaged founders, former staff, donors, partners, current staff and board members, and our wider community through surveys, interviews, and conversations.
As the proposed name and logo evolved, we expanded the circle, seeking input from current activists as well as from people less familiar with WVE to see how the new options resonated both with those who already knew us and those encountering us for the first time.
In the end, WVE’s board unanimously and enthusiastically approved the new brand.
What’s in a Name? And a Logo?
Weaving Voices for Health & Justice reflects what we’ve always done: bringing together the lived experiences and wisdom of those most impacted by toxic chemicals and weaving those voices together to create a stronger, collective movement for change.
Our new logo, a globe and speech bubble woven together, symbolizes dialogue, interconnectedness, and the diverse community we are part of. The refreshed color palette and global motif nod to our history and legacy while signaling a new era of growth and opportunity.
