Under Pressure, Summer’s Eve Changes Ingredients—But Adds New Concerns

On June 18, 2025, we sent Summer’s Eve a third letter—this time raising serious concerns about the toxic ingredients Lilial and Styrene, which the company had reported to the California Safe Cosmetics Database. Just a few weeks later, in July, we saw a sudden shift: The company updated its records to show the removal of Lilial from two of the products we specifically called out in our letter. The bad news: They also added a new toxic fragrance chemical, Galaxolide, to one of those same products. Galaxolide is an aquatic toxicant and a potential endocrine disruptor. While Summer’s Eve continues to refuse to meet with WVE staff, despite our repeated requests, it’s clear we are making an impact. We’ll keep you posted as we monitor more changes.
