Legacy Giving – A Gift of Strength and Hope for Future Generations

How do you align your legacy towards justice? One way is through a planned gift. A charitable bequest is a powerful way to ensure that the movement toward environmental health continues for generations to come.

Please reach out to Weave’s Co-Executive Director, Amber Garcia, to learn more about how to become a Legacy Donor: amberg@weavingvoices.org and/or (720) 800-9309.

Donor Advised Funds and Gifts of Stock

If you have a Donor Advised Fund (DAF), consider making a gift to support Weaving Voices for Health & Justice  in advancing environmental health and gender justice.

Your contribution helps power our work to eliminate toxic chemicals from the products and places that harm our health — especially for women and communities most impacted and on the frontlines of environmental injustice. It’s quick and easy to use your DAF to fund this critical advocacy, education, and organizing work.

To make a gift through a donor advised fund or stock, contact our Development Consultant, Natasha Piette Basheer, at natashapb@weavingvoices.org.

Workplace Giving/Corporate Match

Whether you’re an employee or an employer, you can make a meaningful impact by directing a portion of your paycheck to Weaving Voices—or by adding us as a giving option for your workplace. Your contribution helps advance our campaigns for safer products, corporate accountability, and environmental justice for women and frontline communities.

Employer Matching Gifts

Double (or even triple!) your impact through your employer’s matching gift program.

Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employee giving to nonprofits. Most will match your donation dollar for dollar—and some even more. That means your gift to Weaving Voices for Health & Justice  could go twice as far in advancing our work to eliminate toxic chemicals and protect the health of women, workers, and communities.

Here’s how to get started:

  1. Ask your employer’s Human Resources or Corporate Giving team if they offer a matching gift program.Request that Women’s Voices for the Earth be your designated nonprofit.
  2. Complete any necessary forms your employer provides—or reach out to our development consultant, Natasha Piette Basheer at natashapb@weavingvoices.org,  if you need assistance!

Join us in weaving a toxic-free future—one paycheck at a time.

Cy Près Awards

In class action lawsuits, courts can use cy pres to award any unallocated, unclaimed or undeliverable funds from a class-action settlement or judgment to a non-profit organization. Cy Près Awards are distributed to organizations whose missions reflect the concerns of the underlying class-action case, or whose work will further the class benefits provided by a settlement.

As a national environmental health 501(c)(3) non-profit, Weaving Voices for Health & Justice is an ideal choice for a cy pres award for a wide variety of cases.

Weaving Voices satisfies the key requirements for being a recipient of cy pres funds:

  • Weaving Voices is aligned with the interests of a wide variety of class members (i.e consumers who want safe products, and want accurate information about those products provided by manufacturers) and
  • Weaving Voices advances the underlying aims of litigation by advocating for the elimination of harmful ingredients and the advancement of ingredient transparency by manufacturers of household products.

Our achievements include:

  • Successfully advocating for the passage of state-level consumer right-to-know bills in California and New York which required manufacturers, for the first time, to list ingredients on labels for cleaning, period and professional beauty products, resulting in a significant national impact on informed consumer choices.
  • Moving major manufacturers including SC Johnson, Procter & Gamble, Reckitt and Kimberly Clark to strengthen their chemical screening processes, and phase out specific chemicals of concern from their products.
  • Educating and mobilizing tens of thousands of consumers to voice their concerns about product safety through signing petitions, lobbying, writing letters to the editor, acting as media spokespeople and more.

To help support our mission through cy pres, please add Weaving Voices for Health & Justice to your firm’s list of eligible cy pres recipients.  For more information contact our Development Consultant, Natasha Piette Basheer, at natashapb@weavingvoices.org or (720) 667-8732.
